Trivia:

In 1993, the Czechoslovak Republic separated into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and each country quickly issued its own independent currency.

The Czech Republic has been on a path of economic growth since joining the EU in 2004, but the euro was not introduced at first due to persistent budget deficits.

In 2013, the Czech National Bank (central bank) set a cap on the koruna against the euro to avoid deflation and intervened in the foreign exchange market, but in 2017 it abolished this policy (peg system) and switched to a floating exchange rate system.

Regarding the introduction of the euro, the Czech Ministry of Finance announced at the end of 2018 that it would not set a target for the timing of the introduction of the euro, and the timing of introduction has not yet been decided.
