The higher the denomination of the banknote, the more anti-counterfeiting technologies are incorporated.

The largest denomination banknote, the 50,000 won note, has a taegeuk pattern, four trigrams (the pattern of the national flag) and a map of the Korean Peninsula on the silver band on the left.

Next to the right band is a watermark with a portrait of a woman. The part to the right of this also appears to move when the banknote is moved.
