In an effort to significantly promote understanding and interest in Japanese culture, the film "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" (dubbed in the local language with English subtitles) began airing on television in February 2017 with the cooperation of the Japan Foundation. Also, later that year, NHK programs such as "Project X" began airing on television as part of a cultural grant program. Furthermore, as part of the Japan Foundation's Broadcast Content Promotion Program, "Asaka Ga Kita" (Asaka ga Kita) aired in 2020, followed by "Hiyokko" (Hiyokko) in 2023.
